Robert Rauschenberg often worked in series, incorporating ideas, images and materials related to contemporary popular culture and in response to various art historical movements. His work tends to be layered with many meanings. Rauschenberg was considered an innovator in many of the media he worked in. He produced Made in Tampa at the University of Florida’s Graphicstudio, founded in 1968 as an atelier for both traditional and experimental means of producing limited edition prints and multiples.
